These are a few of the most frequently asked questions we get about the Gorey Awards, nominations, voting, judges, tickets and the event. 

The Gorey Business & Endeavour awards are brought by Gorey Business Network to recognise the achievements of People, Clubs, Organisations and Businesses in the Gorey Area.

The Gorey Business Network are like minded business people working in the Gorey area, who come together twice a month a meet to discuss our businesses, our goals, our needs and where it suits to pass on referrals to each other.  https://www.goreybusinessnetwork.com/

The Gorey Awards were created in 2019.

The Gorey Awards came about as an effort from 2 local people to promote businesses / companies / charities / groups / associations and people in the North Wexford area that should be recognised for their roles in making Gorey & North Wexford a great place to work and live.

Dave Jordan is the owner of Cada Media Ltd, a web design and online marketing agency based in Gorey since 1999. A Dublin native, but a Yellowbelly at heart!

Philip Cullen of Southeast Mortgages & Financial Services is the other half of this dynamic duo and brings to the team a vast amount of experience in networking, business & finance and is a native of Gorey.

The public cast their nominations for each category that they wish to see put forward for shortlisting via GoreyAwards.com

The shortlist the are picked from the top 5 nominations by the judging panel. The judges review each nomination and the reason for being put forward.

To get nominated just ask friends, family, customers, colleagues to put your name forward once the “Nominations” are opened to the public. All Nominations are taken via GoreyAwards.com

The nominations are a public vote. We do not pick the people, businesses, companies for nomination. We tally the nominations, the judges review and then put forward the top 5.

A Category Sponsor is a person / business that wished to back & support a category they feel is a good association with their own enterprise. They get to hand over the Award on the night to the over all winner of their chosen category on stage. We also promote them via GoreyAwards.com, Social Media, Radio, Print & Press too.

A Prime Sponsorship is usually a company that wishes to support the entire Gorey Awards Event. Their financial commitment to the Awards assure its running on an annual basis.

The judges are made up from members of the Gorey Business Network. They are listed on the homepage 

The winners are picked  by the judges after they have been nominated, then Shortlisted and finally voted for by the public. The judges are there to do a final review of the votes cast and look over the merits of each winner looking at various aspects of the nominee so if you have been nominated then please help us, help you by telling us more about you and fill in the BIO Sheet ! The judges decision is final. 

Due to the success of our awards the tickets have become one of the most popular events in the North Wexford diary. So in order to make sure the 100 Nominee’s and families are able to attend we have setup up a waiting list for tickets. We can be contacted here about ticket sales

The Gorey Awards night is usually the last Saturday in January each year. Keep an eye out on social media for updates or changes.

We have moved the Gorey Awards to the Amber Springs Hotel in Gorey to accommodate the 420+ seats needed to run the popular event. 

We donate to the top 5 nominated charities / groups that the public have voted for.

We donate any/all profits from the Gorey Awards to the top 5 shortlisted groups / charities.
